Flavored teas have a tradition dating back nearly 1,000 years to the Sung dynasty of China. Due to the high costs associated with their production, teas like jasmine, lotus and chrysanthemum were often referred to as "Imperial Tribute Teas."

Today flavoring extracts and flower petals are considerably less expensive, making these royal blends available at very reasonable costs. Europe, with its diverse tea culture, has been creating flavored teas for centuries. So it should come as no surprise that all our flavored teas come from the famous flavoring houses of Europe.

The G.S. Haly Co. has direct access to the largest selection of flavored teas in the world. Custom blends are produced in small batches, sealed in foil-lined, air-barrier cartons and shipped to our San Francisco warehouse each month. This practice assures a fresh, time-proven flavored tea line for the U.S. market.

The base of most of our black flavored teas is a China blend that has been specially selected to inhibiting clouding so as to make a superior iced tea product.
