Another type of tea became into existence: scented tea. The Ming were most obsessed with flowers and it showed in their painting, porcelain, embroidery and epic writings to name a few examples. It was only natural that flower scented teas were created at this time. Scenting teas was not new, as previous emperors had costly essential oil scented teas, but flowers were more easily and readily abundant. Lotus, osmanthus, orchid, gardenia, orange, rose, jasmine and other flowers, smoke and fruits are used to create some of the most famous and popular scented teas.
